Op zijn 28e heeft Jan-Ole Klose al tien jaar ervaring in de binnenvaart bij RP Shipping. Momenteel vaart hij als kapitein met de <\/b>Renata Reich<\/i><\/b> op de Duitse kanalen. Sinds drie jaar doet hij dat met Bridgescout\u00ae aan boord \u2013 en dat bevalt meer dan goed. \u201cIk zou niet meer zonder willen,\u201d zegt Klose.<\/b><\/p>

De Duitse binnenwateren kunnen behoorlijk uitdagend zijn: bruggen die net laag genoeg zijn, wisselende waterstanden, beperkte manoeuvreerruimte. \u201cZeker op donkere, smalle kanalen heb je soms echt maar een paar centimeter speling,\u201d legt Klose uit. \u201cDan is het lastig inschatten of je stuurhut wel onder die brug past. Bridgescout\u00ae geeft dan zekerheid. Het systeem meet continu je hoogte ten opzichte van de brug en laat precies zien wanneer je moet zakken. Dat geeft rust.\u201d<\/span><\/p>

Gebruiksgemak aan boord<\/b><\/h3>

Wat Klose vooral opvalt, is hoe toegankelijk het systeem is. \u201cEen paar weken geleden begon er een nieuwe kapitein bij ons. Die kende Bridgescout\u00ae nog niet, maar had het binnen een kwartier door. Je hoeft het eigenlijk niet eens uit te leggen. De visuele weergave is zo duidelijk \u2013 groen is: je zit goed, rood betekent dat je de stuurhut moet laten zakken. Dat spreekt voor zich.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Soepele updates, snelle service<\/b><\/h3>\n

Inmiddels maakte Klose ook een jaarlijkse update mee van het systeem. \u201cDan komt er iemand aan boord, alles wordt nagekeken, eventueel vervangen, en je bent weer helemaal up-to-date. Binnen een half uur is het geregeld. Geen gedoe, gewoon professioneel en snel.\u201d Zou hij het systeem aanraden aan collega-schippers? \u201cAbsoluut,\u201d zegt kapitein Klose. \u201cHet is nauwkeurig, gebruiksvriendelijk en betrouwbaar.
